Do You Have A Seat For Jesus this Thanksgiving by Jill Deville

This Holy Day by Jill Deville
This Holy Day by Jill Deville

Each Thanksgiving we plan, cook, gather, & clean? Is this your tradition? What do you say when your children or grandchildren ask, " What is the meaning of Thanksgiving?" What does Thanksgiving mean to you? For most we can not think of Thanksgiving without rubbing our bellies? For others we can not think about Thanksgiving without thinking for all the planning & work to be done? While there are some that are not ready for it all due to loss or the fear of not fitting in.

Here is a sneak peak of This Holy Day by Jill Deville. I pray it will encourage you to get this book and learn how every Holiday can be a Holy Day:

Jesus loves feast, parties, laugher, family, joy, dancing, and even turkey’s, I am sure. He does not want you to eliminate it or feel embarrassed for the way you have been celebrating Thanksgiving. He wants you to simply know better and do better. Have wisdom, understanding, discernment, faith and obedience. If you lack it, just ask for it. ( James 1).

You can read throughout the bible from start to finish and see that feast and celebrations were meant to be in honor of the Lord and your bond with Him and others. He just wants a seat at the table. He wants to be invited first.

If we begin to acknowledge the silly ways we have been tricked into believing and thinking, then we will be in true thanksgiving. Then we will understand the distractions the devil creates to keep our focus off the Lord. If the devil can have us worrying about where to find the best décor, turkey, napkins, and more. Then have us in wonder if this one will help cook, clean, or bring something? If the devil can have us worried some will not make it, and "some" surely will be there for the meal. Then he is satisfied. Do you want to satisfy him one more thanksgiving? What do your actions show?

For Our 6/7 Fans... I finally know what it means... Now You can too!

Deuteronomy 6:7 NKJV 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.

We will have a greater desire to please the Lord with this wisdom. We will no longer feel justifiable by recreating the traditions of the world. We will make our traditions about Jesus and bring Jesus to the table to thank Him! Jesus wants us to have all things. He gifted us with all things. The problem is we often put all things before Him. Decide to make the meal with Him. Decide to ask Him who to invite. Have fun with Him while you clean and decorate. He wants to be there. He wants to help you. Decide to pray prior to the meal with intention and not necessity. This entire new way will reach into your creases like the fat from all that food and give you your heart’s desire. That heartfelt want that you have been secretly craving for all to be perfect. That T.V. scene. He will give you that. The missing link is that you had the program on the wrong channel. The truth will set us free!

Psalm 106:1 Amplified Bible Israel’s Rebelliousness and the Lord’s Deliverances. 106 Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!) Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; For His mercy and lovingkindness endure forever!
